We are counting on all of you to participate again or for the first time in the #WorldMilkDay celebrations. You can host an event (such as open houses at dairy farms, milk donations to schools and NGOs, photo contests, sports competitions, fairs, dance shows, parties, nutrition conferences, tastings, exhibitions, food carts, and milk bars) or just join the conversation on social media using #WorldMilkDay & #EnjoyDairy.
Any activity counts as an event, just make sure to register so that you are included in the celebrations.

Creating awareness about the many nutritional benefits of milk as a sports drink at a pre-Comrades Marathon Function for athletes participating in the Marathon. Each athlete will receive an information leaflet and a portion of full cream chocolate flavoured milk.

An event held at the local runners that are registered to compete in the Comrades that will take place 9 June, a 90km race that has gained global popularity. Runners will be provided with educational messages regarding dairy and sport in teh form of leaflets, a display and each runner will be provided with a flavoured milk sample. This will promote the consumption of dairy as a recovery drink after sport.

The Milk Producers' Organisation will celebrate World Milk Day at Willow Valley Dairy Farm during a visit by a group of school children who will be told about the story of milk from the farm to the fridge. School children will be taken on a tour of the milking parlour and be introduced to cows and calves. Educational material developed by Milk SA's Consumer Education Project will be used for visual illustration. Teachers will receive teacher guides and posters and the children will each receive a serving of milk to enjoy with lunch.
